The comment tools don't appear on my site
Check you opened the review link, that the snippet is in the page, the allowed origins and any speed or caching plugins.
Work through these in order. Most of the time it is the first one.
Open the site through the review link#
The snippet does nothing on its own. Drobber only switches on for someone who opens the site through the review link (or presses Review site in the dashboard). Everyone else sees the plain site, unless you have turned on visitor feedback.
Copy the review link from the project card, or from the Review link section of the project’s Settings. If there is no link there, add the Site URL under Details first.
Check whether the project says Installed#
The Install snippet panel in the project’s Settings shows Installed or Not detected yet. It only changes to Installed once someone has opened the site through the review link, so a correctly placed snippet still shows Not detected yet until then.
If you have opened the review link and it still says Not detected yet, the snippet is not reaching the page. View the page source and look for data-drobber-key. If it is missing, the snippet is not in the <head> of that page, or the page was published before you added it. See Add the script to your site.
Check the allowed origins#
If the project’s Details list any Allowed origins, the site’s address must be one of them, exactly: https or http, the host and any port. The Site URL is not added for you. A staging copy on another address needs its own line. Leave the list empty to allow any address.
Speed and caching plugins#
The snippet already tells Cloudflare Rocket Loader, WP Rocket, LiteSpeed and Autoptimize to leave it alone. On Cloudways (Breeze), if Delay JS or Group JS is on, add app.drobber.com to its JavaScript exclusions. Then clear the site’s cache and any CDN cache.
Other things to try#
- Open the review link in a private window, in case an old copy of the page is cached.
- If someone pressed Generate a new link, the old review link stops working. Send the new one.
- If the workspace’s trial or plan has ended, the site shows "This review is paused" instead. Choose a plan under Billing and it comes back with everything as it was.
