Emails and notifications

The hourly comment email, the emails you always get, and the bell in the dashboard that groups new comments, replies and mentions.

Drobber tells you about new feedback in two ways: an hourly email of what is new, and the bell at the top of the dashboard. The hourly email is the only one you can switch off.

Hourly comment updates#

This is your one email setting. Open the menu under your name, choose Account & notifications, tick or untick Hourly comment updates and press Save. It is on to begin with.

At most one email an hour, sent only when there is something new, and never about your own activity. It lists:

  • New comments and replies on your projects.
  • Comments whose status someone else changed.
  • Fixed comments whose element has changed again since. See When a fixed comment changes again.

Clients get it for the projects they can see, without visitor feedback.

Emails you always get#

These are sent when something needs you, and can't be switched off:

  • Someone @mentions you in a comment or reply.
  • A comment is assigned to you.
  • A client approves a project (to the team).
  • A feedback deadline has passed (to the team).
  • Someone asks for access to a project from a review link (to owners).
  • A referral reward is earned (to the workspace's first owner).
  • Account emails, such as invites and password reset links.

Clients also get the feedback-deadline reminders set on a project. See Feedback deadlines and reminders.

The bell#

The bell at the top of the dashboard lists what has happened on your projects. The number on it counts unread lines.

  • New comments (owners and team members).
  • Replies. Owners and team members hear about every reply on every project; clients hear about replies in conversations they have written in.
  • @mentions of you.
  • Reactions to your own comments and replies.
  • Approvals (owners and team members).

To save you a flood, it groups as it goes. New comments on one project in a day are one line, such as "Robin left 6 new comments on Aurelo". Replies and reactions on one conversation in a day are one line, and approvals on one project in a day are one line. Each mention gets a line of its own. Nothing is added for your own activity.

Click a line to go straight to it, or press Open inbox. Opening the bell marks everything in it as read. It checks for new things every 60 seconds while the Drobber tab is open and in view, shows the latest 30 lines, and keeps them for 60 days.
