Fix with Claude on WordPress
The Drobber WordPress plugin takes your project key (dr_) and lets Claude Code change your pages’ text through WordPress.
The Drobber WordPress plugin does two things: it adds Drobber to your pages, and it lets Claude Code change your pages’ text through WordPress, with nothing on your computer but Claude itself.
What you need#
- WordPress 6.3 or later for the plugin, and WordPress 6.9 or later to connect Claude.
- Claude Code, connected to Drobber with your own key (Connect Claude). Claude uses both connections: Drobber’s, to read the comment and report back, and WordPress’s, to change the page.
- A WordPress account that can install plugins and edit the pages, on a site where application passwords work. They need HTTPS, and some security plugins switch them off.
The plugin takes the project key, which starts with dr_. It is not the account key that starts with drk_: that one is for Claude, Zapier and Make, and the plugin turns it down.
Find the project key#
Open the project’s Settings and find the Install snippet panel. Next to On WordPress?, press Copy project key. The Fix with Claude setup shows the same key when you choose WordPress.
Set it up#
- Press Fix with Claude on a comment and choose WordPress as where your website is. Choose Download the plugin and press Download drobber.zip.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the file, and press Activate.
- Open Settings > Drobber. Under Connect this project, paste the project key and press Save. Drobber is now on your pages.
- Under Connect Claude, press Install the MCP Adapter (WordPress’s own plugin that lets Claude talk to it). If it is installed but off, the button says Turn on the MCP Adapter. If it is already on, there is no button: go to the next step.
- Press Connect Claude Code. Copy the command it shows straight away (it holds a password and is shown only once), paste it into Terminal, press Enter, then restart Claude Code.
- Once Claude has signed in to WordPress, the setup in Drobber ticks Claude is connected to WordPress, and the plugin’s page says Claude is connected to this site.
From then on, Fix with Claude sends the comment to Claude, which finds the text in WordPress and changes it. Claude works as the WordPress user who pressed Connect Claude Code, so it can only change what that user can edit.
Changes go live straight away#
On WordPress, Claude’s change shows on the site as soon as it is made. There is no draft to approve first. The plugin clears the page builder’s cache so the new text shows.
The plugin keeps the last 5 changes to each post or page. Ask Claude to undo the last change and it puts the text back, one change at a time.
Claude can change text and its formatting. Anything like a script is stripped out of the new text.
What Claude can change#
Text in posts, pages and templates (published, draft, pending, private or scheduled), in the block editor and the classic editor, and in pages built with:
- Elementor
- Breakdance
- Bricks, headers and footers included
- Beaver Builder
- Oxygen 6
- Oxygen 4. Older pages that Oxygen saved only as shortcodes need opening and saving in Oxygen once first.
- Divi 5
Text that isn’t kept in a post, page or template, such as menus, widgets and theme settings, can’t be changed this way.
Without the plugin#
In the setup you can choose Set it up manually instead, to use WordPress’s own Claude connection (the MCP Adapter plugin and an application password) without the Drobber plugin. On its own, WordPress only lets Claude read the site: to change pages you need the Drobber plugin, or a page builder that adds its own Claude tools.
Disconnect Claude from WordPress#
In WordPress, go to Users > Profile > Application Passwords and revoke “Claude (Drobber)”. This password lives in WordPress, so disconnecting Claude in Drobber or resetting your Drobber password doesn’t remove it.
