Create a project

Make a Website, PDF, Image or Video project: one project per thing your client is reviewing. What each field does and what happens next.

Create one project per thing your client is reviewing: a website, a set of PDFs, a set of images, or a video. Owners and team members can create projects. Clients cannot.

Create the project#

  1. On the Projects page, press New project. It is also in the menu under your name.
  2. Under What are you reviewing?, choose Website, PDF, Image or Video. Website is chosen to begin with.
  3. Fill in the fields for that type (see below).
  4. Press Create project.

The four types#

TypeGood for
WebsiteComment on a live site with one line of script.
PDFProofs, brochures, brand guidelines, reports.
ImageMockups, designs, social posts, artwork.
VideoEdits, ads, animations. YouTube, Vimeo, Drive or upload.

The fields#

  • Project name: needed for a website or a video. For PDFs and images you can leave it blank and the project takes the file’s name. Names can be up to 120 characters.
  • Site URL (Website): the address of the site, such as https://acme.com. You can leave it for now, but the review link only appears once it is filled in.
  • Allowed origins (Website): the addresses the script may run on, one per line. Leave it blank to allow any. See Allowed origins.
  • Video link (Video): a YouTube or Vimeo link, or the address of an .mp4, .mov or .webm file. Leave it blank to upload a video or choose one from Google Drive on the next screen.
  • Files (PDF and Image): drop in one or more files. PDFs can be up to 60MB each. Images can be PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 25MB each. You can add more later.

What happens next#

  • Website: the project opens on its Settings tab, with the install snippet and the review link. Next, add the script to your site.
  • Video with a link: the video opens, ready for comments.
  • Video without a link: the Videos tab opens so you can add the video. See Video feedback and timestamps.
  • PDF or Image: the Files tab opens with your files. If none of the files could be used, the project is not created.

To change the name, Site URL or allowed origins later, open the project’s Settings tab, edit them under Details and press Save changes.

If you cannot create a project#

Creating a project needs an active plan, and the free trial counts. Without one, Drobber takes you to Billing to choose a plan. Some AppSumo tiers also limit how many active projects you can have. See AppSumo codes.
