Client approval and sign-off
Clients press Approve, with an optional note, when they are happy. Your team is told and the project keeps a record.
When your client is happy, they press Approve beside the comments on the site or file and can add a note. Your team is told straight away, and the project keeps a record of who approved, when and what they said.
How your client approves#
- Open the comments panel on the site or file. Approve is in the row at the top, next to the round and deadline.
- Press Approve. The box explains that anything they have commented on still gets looked at.
- Add a note if they like (up to 1,000 characters) and press Approve.
After approving, the button becomes a You approved label. There is no way to take an approval back or change the note afterwards. Other people see Approved by and the name, or how many have approved.
Who can approve#
Signed-in clients on the project can approve, and so can guests on a project that lets anyone comment, under the name they give. Your own team never sees the button, so nobody can approve on the client’s behalf. Showcase projects have no Approve button, and it is not shown inside the tablet and mobile size previews.
How your team hears#
The first time each person approves (each round, on projects that count rounds), every team member in your workspace gets a line in the notification bell and an email saying who approved which project, with a See approvals button.
See who has approved#
The project header shows a green Approved by chip for the current round. Open Settings and find Approvals for the full list, with each round and note, or Nobody has approved yet.
Approval and revision rounds#
On a project that counts revision rounds, approval is per round: completing a round gives your client a fresh Approve button for the next one. Once the final round is reached, approvals stay on the final round, so completing it does not reset them.
With testing tools on#
When testing tools are on, the Approve box is worded for testers: pressing it says they have finished testing and are happy with it.
