Connect Basecamp
Turn each comment into a Basecamp to-do in the list you choose. Completing the to-do resolves the comment in Drobber.
Each comment becomes a to-do in the Basecamp to-do list you choose. Replies become comments on it, and completing the to-do resolves the comment. Comes with every paid plan and the free trial, but not AppSumo Tier 1. On Tier 1 it shows blurred under a box saying it comes with Tier 2; see AppSumo codes.
Connect Basecamp#
Basecamp connects in one click; there is no token form. Basecamp appears on the Integrations page only where the one-click connection is available.
- Open the menu under your name and choose Integrations.
- On the Basecamp card, press Connect Basecamp and allow Drobber in Basecamp. Drobber uses the first Basecamp account your login can open.
- Back in Drobber, choose where each project’s comments go.
Only the workspace owner can connect Basecamp for every project. A project can connect its own Basecamp with Connect Basecamp in its Connected tools, when Basecamp isn’t connected for the workspace.
Choose where each project’s comments go#
Connecting Basecamp doesn't send anything yet. Each project is turned on separately, and each can go to a different to-do list.
- On the Integrations page, open Projects under Basecamp. It shows how many projects are on, such as "0 of 4 on".
- Next to a project, choose a to-do list from the list and press Turn on.
Or do it from the project: open its Settings tab, find Connected tools, press + Connect a tool, open Basecamp, choose an answer to "Which to-do list should new comments go to?" and press Turn on. Any team member who can open the project can do this, not only the owner.
The list only offers what Basecamp itself returns for the connected account, so if what you want is missing, check that account can see it. "Nothing found to send to" means Basecamp returned nothing: create one there first, then reload. To move a project later, use Change on the Integrations page, or Send somewhere else in the project's Connected tools.
To-do lists are shown as "Project › List", from up to 50 Basecamp projects.
What the to-do contains#
The to-do’s title is the comment’s number and the start of its text, and its notes have the comment, who left it and where, the browser and device, links to the page and to Drobber, and developer details when Testing tools are on. Screenshots aren’t sent to Basecamp; use Open in Drobber to see them.
- Replies: added as comments on the to-do.
- Resolved completes the to-do, and reopening the comment reopens it. Basecamp to-dos are only open or done, so a move to Feedback is added as a comment: "Status: Feedback".
- Assignee: not set.
What comes back#
Completing a to-do resolves the comment, and reopening it moves the comment back to In Progress. Changes come back instantly, or within a few minutes; the project’s Connected tools says which. Comments on the to-do don’t come back.
Turn it off or disconnect#
Press Turn off next to a project on the Integrations page or in its Connected tools (Disconnect, for a project with its own connection). To stop every project, the workspace owner presses Disconnect on the Basecamp card, then Disconnect Basecamp. To-dos already made stay in Basecamp, and if you turn it on again, a new reply on an older comment starts a new to-do.
