Visitor feedback on a live site

Add a Feedback tab to your live site so anyone using it can report bugs and ideas, pinned to the exact spot. Only your team sees it.

Visitor feedback lets anyone using a live site tell you about bugs and ideas, pinned to the exact spot. A Feedback tab sits on the edge of every page; what visitors send comes into the project, and only your team sees it.

It comes with every paid plan, the free trial and AppSumo Tier 2 and up, on website projects.

Turn it on#

  1. Open the website project and go to Settings.
  2. Find Visitor feedback and press Turn on. The site needs the Drobber snippet or the WordPress plugin, which is already there if you have reviewed it with Drobber.
  3. Open the site in a private window to see the tab as visitors do.

It can take up to an hour for the tab to appear for someone who visited the site just before you turned it on. Choose the tab’s colour under Tab colour in the same box. To remove the tab, press Turn off.

What visitors can do#

Visitors press Feedback, then click anything on the page, drag to outline an area, or highlight some text. They choose whether it is Feedback, Something’s broken or a Question, write it up, and can draw on the page, attach a screenshot and leave an email address if they would like a reply. They do not need an account, and they cannot see anyone else’s feedback.

What your team sees#

  • Visitor feedback is marked Visitor in your lists and on the Board, and From a visitor to the live site when you open it, with their email if they gave one.
  • Use the Show comments from switch (Everyone, Review, Visitors) above the Board and Comments tab to see it on its own. See The Feedback column and filter.
  • Visitors do not see replies in Drobber, so reply by email.
  • With Developer details on, bug reports come with the page’s console errors and the browser and screen the visitor was using.
  • It goes to your connected tools like any other comment, so bugs can land straight in Jira, Linear or GitHub.

Your clients never see it#

Visitor feedback is hidden from clients everywhere: on the review link, in their dashboard, in the Inbox and in their emails.

Limits#

Each visitor can send up to 10 pieces of feedback an hour on a project, and a project takes up to 300 an hour in all, so the tab cannot be used to flood you. Each one can be up to 5,000 characters.
