Connect Zapier
Send new comments, replies and status changes to thousands of apps with Zapier, and create comments from them, using a drk_ key.
Zapier connects Drobber to thousands of other apps. Send every new comment, reply and status change to Google Sheets, HubSpot, Airtable or your team chat, and let other apps create comments, reply and change statuses in Drobber. Zapier comes with every paid plan and the free trial, but not AppSumo Tier 1.
You connect with a key that starts with drk_. It is your own key: everything a Zap does happens as you, on the projects you can see.
Connect Zapier#
- Open the menu under your name and choose Integrations.
- Under Zapier & Make, give a key a name you will recognise, such as "Zapier", and press Create a key.
- Press Copy straight away: the key starts with
drk_and is shown only once. - If the card shows Add Drobber to your Zapier account, press it and accept the invite, so Drobber shows up in your Zapier account.
- In Zapier, create a Zap and choose Drobber. Pick a trigger: New Comment, New Reply, Comment Status Changed or Comment Resolved.
- When Zapier asks you to sign in, connect a new account and paste your key into Drobber key.
- Choose a project, or leave it empty for every project, test the trigger, add the next step and turn the Zap on.
Any team member can make a key, not only the owner. If there is no Zapier & Make card on your Integrations page, it isn’t available on your account yet. On AppSumo Tier 1 it shows blurred under a box saying it comes with Tier 2.
Triggers#
Triggers fire the moment something happens in Drobber:
- New Comment: someone leaves a comment on a website or file.
- New Reply: someone replies to a comment.
- Comment Status Changed: a comment moves to In Progress, Feedback or Resolved.
- Comment Resolved: a comment is resolved. Resolving a comment fires Comment Status Changed too.
Every comment arrives with its text, who left it, its number and status, the project and page, the browser, operating system, device and window size, its number of replies, a link to open it in Drobber, and a link to its screenshot when one was added. Status changes also say the previous status and who changed it.
Actions and searches#
- Create Comment: choose the Project and write the Comment. Page is a full address or a path such as
/pricing; leave it empty for the home page. Status starts as In Progress unless you choose another. - Reply to Comment: adds a reply to a comment, as you.
- Change Comment Status: moves a comment to In Progress, Feedback or Resolved.
- Find Comment: finds a comment by its number in a project (like #12), or by its ID. Find or Create Comment makes one if none is found.
A comment made by a Zap shows Zapier as its browser. On a PDF, image or video project it goes on the newest file. Text longer than 5,000 characters is cut. Comments made this way are sent to your connected tools like any other.
Your key#
- The key acts as you, and only on projects you can see. If you lose access to a project, its Zaps stop getting comments from it.
- It only works for Zapier and Make. Claude has its own connection: see Connect Claude.
- Your keys are listed on the Zapier & Make card, with when each was created and last used. Remove stops every Zap and Make scenario using that key straight away.
- If the workspace has no active plan, Drobber turns the key’s requests away until a plan is chosen.
For the calls behind the Zapier app, and to build your own, see the API reference. To pause or stop a Zap, see Turn off a Zap or Make scenario.
